My Ungrateful Child: I Gave Her Everything, Yet She Forgot Who Raised Her!

My daughter is ungrateful! I handed her a thriving business, yet she has forgotten who lifted her up!
I could title my tale akin to Alec Konstantinov’s — “God protect the blind man who has regained his sight.”
Reflecting on my journey, I realize I am not alone in facing such circumstances. History is replete with accounts of children who, having everything handed to them, lose sight of those who supported them.
I wish no ill upon my daughter. She can choose her own path.
However, I shall no longer provide her with employment or profits, now that she believes there is no place for me in the enterprise I built.
I entrusted her with a well-established business
I dedicated my life to working, building, and expanding. I started from humble beginnings, achieving success step by step.
Now, I own a chain of hotels and several restaurants. This is the fruit of many years of hard work, sleepless nights, mistakes, challenges, and triumphs.
As my daughter came of age, I decided to pass on part of the business to her. She was bright and ambitious. I had hoped she would carry on my legacy, preserving and enhancing what I had developed from scratch.
I entrusted her with one of the restaurants. Moreover, I gifted her 30% of the company.
I brought her into the fold.
I shared my clients, connections, and expertise with her.
Yet the more she received, the less she valued it.
She decided I was no longer needed
Over time, her attitude towards me shifted. She began to see herself not just as the owner of the restaurant but as the head of the entire company.
She started to interfere in the management of the hotels, making decisions without consulting me.
It reached a point where, when I would enter the restaurant in the morning to grab a cup of coffee and some food from the buffet, she would shout:
— You’re eating at my expense!
I was taken aback.
— At your expense? Didn’t I give you this restaurant? Isn’t it part of the business I built over the years?
She merely dismissed my words.
— This is now my restaurant. I am not obliged to feed you.
It felt as though I was hearing from a stranger, not my daughter.
She colluded with travel operators against me
But that wasn’t the end of it.
She struck deals with travel operators behind my back.
She alone knew the banking details, and it was she who received the payments.
As for me…
She would allocate a small sum and toss it my way with the words:
— This should be enough for you.
Enough?
For me, who created this business?
Who invested years, nerves, and effort into it?
I expelled her from the company
When the season came to a close, I could no longer endure the situation.
I called a meeting.
I stripped her of her 30% stake in the company.
I regained control.
I kicked her out of the business I had once gifted her.
She thought I wouldn’t take such action.
She thought I would endure it all.
She was mistaken.
She took me to court… twice!
What followed was a true battle.
She filed two lawsuits.
In the first, she demanded half of the business.
In the second, she sought the return of the 30% I had once gifted her.
She lost both cases.
But rather than learning from her failures, she opted for revenge.
My daughter reported me to the tax authorities!
She filed a complaint against her own father.
As a result, I was subjected to a tax audit covering the past five years.
For a year, I was hounded.
For a year, I moved between agencies, proving my integrity.
For a year, I watched as my own daughter attempted to dismantle the business that was meant to be her inheritance.
I recalled holding her tiny hand in mine, teaching her to take her first steps, wishing for her to have everything wonderful.
And now…
Now she was willing to destroy me just to seize more.
Gratitude? Care? Family? Don’t make me laugh.
How quickly people forget their roots.
How swiftly they dismiss who gave them their opportunities.
How easily they betray their closest ones.
My daughter has forgotten who she was.
She believes she achieved everything by herself.
Well then…
Now she shall truly walk her own path.
Without my support.
Without my business.
Without my legacy.
I do not curse her.
But I have no intention of helping her further.
Let her discover what it means to build a life from scratch.
Let her understand the struggle of having nothing and achieving everything on her own.
And all I can do is echo:
God protect those who suddenly see…
