“You Sit At Home All Day And Do Nothing” – After Hearing These Words, I Decided To Teach Him A Lesso…

So, let me tell you what happened I just couldnt let this slide. You know those comments you sometimes hear that just push you over the edge? Well, after he said I just lounged about at home all day, I figured it was time he realised how wrong he was.

Before we got married, my friends always warned me: Once a bloke puts a ring on it, he starts acting like he owns you and the mask comes off. But, I didnt believe them. Honestly, I thought Mark was different. He always treated me kindly, never said a harsh word, and acted as if he was scared to upset me, always wanting me by his side. But, just like it happens to so many women, I was wrong. Its true some men really do change once they think youre theirs.

It wasnt long into our marriage before Mark started grumbling about my mum. Why does she call you so much? Does she really need to pop round every week? hed moan. Wanting things to work, I agreed with him, mainly out of worry for our marriage. I actually asked Mum to give me a bit of space and only called her when I was on my own. But of course, that wasnt enough.

Not long after, I found out I was pregnant and, to make things worse, I lost my job because my contract wasnt renewed I had to be on bed rest, or else Id risk losing the baby. Thats when Mark really started laying it on thick, accusing me of sitting at home all day and doing nothing. I kept my head down; I was pregnant, and the thought of him leaving me terrified me.

When our little girl, Emily, was about eighteen months old, Marks attitude got even worse. He expected me to treat him like some sort of king. The moment he got in from work, I was supposed to be waiting at the door, slippers in hand, a hot meal ready and waiting on the table. He didnt lift a finger with Emily in his book, all of that was my job as the woman of the house.

I was totally done in. So, I packed up a couple of bags and took Emily round to stay at Mums. I didn’t speak to Mark for two whole months. Life carried on; I got another job and, bit by bit, I started to feel more myself.

Then, one day, Mark turned up at Mums looking a right state thin, scruffy, and really sorry for himself. He actually got down on his knees and begged us to forgive him. So I told him fair and square that hed have to take a cooking course and, when I came home, hed be doing his share of the cooking and cleaning. He said yes, but I guess well just have to see if he really meant it.
